The first Desktop Imperium site was released in December 1998. Back then I just wanted some space to show off my desktop pieces. I sucked bigtime but I didn't care cause I had found a way to get my graphics spread around a bit. The reason why I'm making a website about wallpaper design is as simple as I think they're worth it and I'm in love with the process of making them. Desktop art is the most personal work one can do. Total creative freedom, independence, no client wanting changes. Just design made in an artistic perspective. With this third version of Desktop Imperium the whole Idea is to expose wallpaper talents from allover the world in mainly the design scene and share inspiration. An important aspect is the credit I feel one should get for sharing the truly personal work, so this time I've tried to aid all the exhibitors by providing some personal information. Ofcourse it's also still a place for me to show my latest pieces, like with the first site. The artist/designer of the month section has expanded a bit and this time some great names will be seen around here about once a month. Expect interviews, great screen imagery and fresh inspiration. Also a database for exhibitor's information is present, and the possibiity to download the latest added desktops from the frontpage. ENJOY! /Jens
